Engineering Overview
GEC's Engineering Division is composed of five groups: Transportation, Electrical and Intelligent Transportation System, Public Works, Program Management, and Construction Management.
The GEC Engineering Division provides comprehensive civil, structural, and electrical engineering services to Federal, state, and local governments, private clients, and industry. GEC's work has focused on transportation, traffic, water resources, intelligent transportation systems, and communications. Engineering services range from preliminary to detailed engineering design to construction inspection and overall project management.
GEC's engineers have recently completed a number of large and complex highway and bridge projects involving transportation planning, traffic engineering and design including: line and grade studies, traffic studies, design and traffic signals, interstate highways, local streets, bridges for major river crossings, and highway overpass bridges. Structural engineers have also designed marine dock and dockside facilities; residential, public and commercial buildings; and flood control structures. GEC's civil engineers are proficient in planning and designing site improvements such as water and sewer lines, access roads and streets, parking, drainage, and site grading. They can also provide environmental and hazardous site assessments and assist the client in obtaining permits. Included on the staff are highly experienced hydraulic engineers experienced in analyzing and designing drainage and flood control systems as well as environmental engineers experienced in designing water supply, water and wastewater treatment, and distribution systems for new or existing development. GEC's electrical engineers are currently performing statewide ITS services for LDOTD.
GEC is unique in being able to provide all of these services with a highly experienced in-house staff of professional engineers, planners, architects, environmental specialists, and CADD technicians.
