POSITION:     BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

STARTING PAY:   Based on experience
HOURS:    Monday thru Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 7:30am to 11:30am; Additional hours may be required based on project needs
AREAS OF CONCENTRATION:      Greater New Orleans Area and St. Tammany Parishes


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Marketing or related field preferable
  • 5 years of experience in engineering sales and marketing

JOB PREREQUISITES:

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently, maintains a positive attitude, and works well with clients, staff and management
  • Confident and dynamic personality; demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of market conditions and competition
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • General business knowledge and understanding of the company services, trends, market and specifications.
  • Knowledge of industry and phases of project delivery from conception to completion

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Coordinates the development of  regional and service area marketing plans working closely with Senior Vice President of Business Development (SVPBD)  and staff to ensure the marketing plan aligns with growth goals and strategies
  2. Ability to write and prepare proposals and RFQ responses
  3. Develops strategies for seeking out, qualifying, and securing new business
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with clients and key parish municipal officials in designated market area.
  5. Participates in the strategic planning process and collaborates with the SVPBD in executing corporate strategic growth and marketing goals and objectives
  6. Helps develop and track metrics to measure marketing, business development and sales success; collaborates with the SVPBD to recommend, develop and implement changes in marketing and sales plans/strategies to improve success
  7. Manages the competitive detailed proposal, statement of qualifications, and presentation process for securing new work
  8. Researches client, market, and industry trends
  9. Analyzes and understands the company’s competition
  10. Ability to analyze and compare technical data and specifications
  11. Analyzes political and legislative landscape and assists in the development of marketing strategies to leverage political relationships
  12. Oversees client feedback/satisfaction process and assists in developing strategies to solve any concerns identified
  13. Plan and attend conferences and tradeshows to promote business
  14. Attend and participate in company marketing and business development meetings
  15. Participate in active team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  16. Assist in any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule.
