 Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related major


Job Prerequisites:

  • Experience in Proposal development, particularly related to infrastructure, industrial, and energy related projects.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, spelling and composition, as well as oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intellectual skills to draw logical conclusions and plan and prioritize tasks
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to work under the pressure of multiple deadlines and the high consequence of errors


Typical Duties:

  2. Works with project managers and the proposal production staff to ensure all required material is included in proposal packages; edits proposal text, writes or updates resumes for project personnel assigned to project team
  3. Responsible for quality control
  4. Compiles materials for submittals and proposals, ensuring that client’s requirements are fully met; this involves precise interpretation of client’s RFP and conducting search for appropriate materials, such as related project descriptions and resumes of project personnel
  5. Participates with project managers in the selection and recommendation of appropriate personnel to be included in proposals, according to the Request for Proposal (RFP)
  6. Writes portions of, or complete proposal texts, including introduction, overview, or cover letter for approval and signature of responsible corporate officer
  7. Coordinates with graphic designers to ensure that any required graphic arts materials, such as covers, layout sheets, photographs, organization charts, etc., are produced to specifications and are ready to be included in submittals; reviews and proofreads these materials
  8. Exercises initiative and independent judgment with regard to content, wording, completeness, correctness, and appropriateness of proposal contents and graphics materials, making recommendations to supervisor and project manager
  9. Ability to give work direction to graphic designers, and reprographics technicians
  10. Represents GEC in meeting with client’s as directed by senior staff
  11. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  12. Assist in any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule to client and with budget



Job Location:         State of Louisiana

Status:                 Full time

Starting Pay:          Based on Experience

Business Hours:      Monday thru Thursday 7:30 am to 5:00pm; Friday 7:30 am to 11:30 am
