In May of 2016, Ms. LeBas joined GEC’s senior leadership team as Vice President of Business Development. At the time of her appointment, GEC’s strategic plan was to solidify GEC’s market presence in alignment with building trusted client relationships and expanding service offerings. She was recognized as a leader with expertise to enhance GEC’s current management team and fulfill its common commitment of building a better firm for the future. She deeply embodies those characteristics and helped bring GEC’s team a wealth of experience ranging from multimodal transportation to public financing programs.
Ms. LeBas is a well-known figure in the engineering and transportation industry, with over 24 years at the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) and 6 years at the Division of Administration. She served most recently as Secretary of the LA DOTD, where she was responsible for the administration of the Department’s operation and capital programs and emergency response for the State’s transportation infrastructure, which included an annual budget of $1.7 billion and over 4,200 employees. In addition, she has received numerous awards and was inducted into the Louisiana State University Civil and Environmental Engineering Hall of Distinction in 2011, as well as the Louisiana Engineering Society (L.E.S.) Charles M. Kerr Award for Public Relations. Most recently, she was selected to receive the 2017 WTS Woman of the Year Award.
