GEC Awarded Disaster Recovery Services Contract with City of Sulphur, Louisiana

In response to nearly back-to-back Hurricanes Laura and Delta this season, GEC was awarded a contract for Program and Grants Management Services for the recovery of the City of Sulphur, LA. In this role, GEC will assist in the recovery of the City by providing support for federal and state programs, including the FEMA Public Assistance Program, FEMA Hazard Mitigation Program, HUD Community Development Block Grant Program, and US Department of Transportation programs. The Project Team will manage the City’s reimbursement claims and oversee the remediation and reconstruction of the City’s key infrastructure facilities.

GEC’s Disaster Recovery Division Head, Jeff Eichholz, noted that this is a tall order, especially since damages from each hurricane must be kept separated for funding purposes; however, GEC is up to the challenge. “Now more than ever the City of Sulphur needs an experienced team to navigate the complicated task at hand. GEC is committed to helping the City develop and implement a recovery plan to restore their facilities to their pre-disaster condition. We’re confident we can maximize reimbursement for all aspects of the City’s recovery.”

GEC will be supported by our teaming partners, Rostan Solutions LLC and The Elite Group. Rostan Solutions, a nationally recognized disaster recovery company, specializes in emergency preparedness, response, and disaster recovery services. Rostan has performed in 14 states and 2 US territories in Regions II, III, IV, VI, VII, VIII, & IX, managing more than $5 billion since 1991. The Elite Group is a small, minority, woman-owned business that will provide innovative technical solutions that will streamline data collection in the field.
